Here we are...already flying into Month 5 of our renovation. We moved out two weeks ago to our good friend Laura's house. She is such a gracious host and we have NO IDEA how we could have completed this process without her giving us and the dogs a roof over our head. The month of June is the busiest yet. The past week included new AC install, plumbing completion, and the electrician working his magic. Can I tell you how exciting it is to see my chandelier outlet get installed (such a girl comment, I know). Jacob is an amazing contractor through this process and has established quite the rolodex. The coming weeks are going to be tough, but by the end of June we are well on our way to moving back HOME to begin the finishing touches.

Let the destruction begin! Once we moved our possessions and OURSELVES out of the house, it was the time we have anxiously been waiting for...demolition. Jacob worked two straight weeks to get the old prepared for the new. You do not want to know some of the things we found hiding underneath our house. I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but we are pretty sure there was a rat party on a nightly basis underneath our guest bathroom tub.

We finally had to bite the bullet and move out all furniture and fixtures to prepare for demolition. With the assistance of a SAM from Suddath, in a span of 4 hours our entire home was packed up and shipped away to storage for 6 weeks. I do not know how people move more than once or twice in their lifetimes. This was the most stressful thing I have gone through. The boxes and piles to move were never ending. The amount of "junk" we have collected in five years is ridiculous. My goal when we move back in is to remove half of every box load and place in a Garage Sale pile. After the Garage Sale attempt, the rest will be donated to charity. The clutter cannot continue when the new home is complete. I get stressed out just thinking about it.
